Monkeys by the Angkor Wat Moat

Driving by the moat after a full day spent viewing Angkor Wat, the Bayon (smiling faces) in Angkor Thom and Ta Phrom (overgrown by trees), we spontaneously asked our Tuk Tuk driver to stop.  We wanted photos of the moat from here where it had a dreamlike quality and then our guide Borith mentioned there should also be monkeys around.

And there were.

Angkor Wat Moat Monkeys

Amazingly considering that Angkor Wat gets two million visitors per year, these guys were not in the least interested in us and seemed content foraging.

I debated whether to include these photos in my recent ANGKOR WAT POST but decided against it.

What.Was.I.Thinking?

I should have known that friend and animal lover Mike from PAST MY CURFEW – just ask him about his wonder dog Phoenix – would want photos of the monkeys.
