We spent a lot of time walking the cobblestone lanes of Barri Gotic (the gothic quarter) in Barcelona. Although we had a map we liked to wander aimlessly and let the laneways work their magic. We marvelled at the violinists playing hauntingly beautiful music, the pastry shops and smells of coffee, the strange looking hams on display in shop windows.
We rounded a corner and were amazed to find this rotisserie. It was “found” on several occasions, only to be lost again. The most interesting thing about it was that it was wood fired. The first couple of times we happened upon it, either the wood was being stacked or the chickens were being loaded into it.
But finally we rounded the corner and there was the cook outside basting the already cooking chickens. We never discovered if they were served inside a restaurant or sold as take away chickens. One thing I do know is they smelt divine.
It reminded me of Vietnam where they roast ducklings on rotisseries on the footpaths. Have you seen this done anywhere else in the world?

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your webpage? My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my users would certainly benefit from some of the information you present here. Please let me know if this ok with you. Many thanks!

Hi Kaye, Thanks for your note. I am a little confused – When I do a google search for cartframe.com nothing appears. Is cartframe the site that you want to link from? The whirlypets.com site does not appear to be relevant to Budget Travel Talk. Regards, Jan
