On the Icefields Parkway, between Banff and Jasper in the Canadian Rocky mountains, (one of the great drives of the world) we came across this lake. I do not know it’s name, but looking at this photo it sure looks like the head of a Wolf. Might it also be called Blue Lake – it certainly is an incredible shade of blue.
I think Canada is the most photogenic country for natural beauty on earth. What do you think?
**Stop Press: This gorgeous lake is called Peyto Lake.
The Wolf Lake is amazing. It simply took my breath away. Wish I was there right now 🙂
Hi Agness – I love that photo – and it is completely untouched. That is it’s natural colour. Such a beautiful place. I cried when we left the Rockies!!
I have never been to Banff, but every photo that I see like this moves it higher up my list of “must see” locations.
Hi, This lake was probably half way between Banff and Jasper. The Canadian Rockies are “to die for” beautiful (I know the USA ones are too, but I have not been to them). We spent two months in Canada and it was my husbands choice in a RTW trip, but I was soon converted. It is SO Beautiful and SO big. I think we will end up back there one day.
