KICKING HORSE PASS (HOW I LOVE THAT NAME)

Can I tell you, that as an Australian, the name Kicking Horse Pass held such connotations of the American Wild West, that we detoured from Lake Louise, Canada, just to see it.

Whilst in the neighbourhood and lured by the impossibly attractive name of Emerald Lake (Emerald City – Wizard of Oz!) we arrived early in the morning to check it out.  We were wowed by such crystal reflections on our solo walk around the lake, that we thought we had indeed arrived in the magical Land of Oz.

I think we were very lucky that conditions were perfect for reflections. Canada has wonderful lakes, but this was special.

Thanks! The Rocky Mountains in Canada were my favourite place. I didn’t want to leave. There was a good campground at Kicking Horse Pass as well.

Thanks Lisa, I think it is one of the most beautiful places I have been, and the fact that we were early (because we camped nearby) meant we had it to ourselves, which made it extra special.

Could I firstly just say as a lover of photography What a Stunning Image! Takes the breath away, nature at her most impressive. We have an image of a lake in the Alps taken on Christmas Day that I almost can’t believe we saw it was so perfectly beautiful.

Canada is indeed a jewel, ciao lisa
