Built in 1913, the Band Stand, now referred to as the Rotunda, was used to host open air concerts. You can find it on the Strand in Anzac Park between the fountain (the one with illuminated colour changes) and the Garden of Remembrance. It is across the road from one of my favourite buildings, The Queens Hotel Townsville. Once a functioning hotel, it is no longer open to the public.

I so would love to sit on the grass and watch a live Band playing on the Rotunda!! It sure looks so pretty, with a new paint job it will be gorgeous and its a perfect spot to have it.

I don’t know why they don’t use it any more for concerts 🙁
