There was quite a strong breeze blowing on the Strand in Townsville yesterday afternoon and we were quite surprised to see this sign.
We could hear the plane gaining height above and on our return walk sure enough they were floating down so we sat on a park bench for a better view. There were two tandem parachutes and they seemed to be taking their time and having a good look around on the way down.
I was a little worried about the stiff breeze but they were real pro’s and landed perfectly on the beach.
Have you skydived or would you like one as a Chrissy Present?

I signed up for a skydiving class – took the classroom part of the course and then the wind came up and delayed the actual dive. I have never returned nor now do I think I want to do that now – though I’m told it’s a real rush.
Hi Leigh. I think I would have taken the wind’s arrival as a message not to do it! I think it would be amazing but I would never do it.
That looks beautiful Jan. I haven’t skydived but my son and my hubby did for my son’s 21st. I was gnashing my teeth and wringing my hands as it took them so long to spiral up to their height of 10,000 metres (I think) anyway it took ages, then poof! They were out, and it only seemed minutes until they were down, both absolutely exhilarated! Would I do it – um I don’t think so. I’m happy listening to them relive their experience!
They usually do come down quickly Jo, but these ones seemed to take a long time. Maybe they could stay up longer because it was so windy? I would never jump out of a plane!
Looks like a lot of fun.
Have I skydived? nope
Would I love to? hmmm don’t think I have the courage ..
Me neither Rachel. 🙂
I must try this one! This is really fun and exciting too!
