Accommodation The Strand Townsville
There is a five storey height restriction on buildings on the Strand, the one exception being Aquarius on the Strand (we recommend Unit 1201 below) which was built before that restriction came into being. It has a relaxed feel to it, even though it is very popular, especially on weekends.
Strand Quality Apartment
This well-priced apartment is the perfect family getaway, 120 metres from Strand Waterpark. Hosted by Kirsty, this brand new listing does not have reviews yet, but is so beautifully done I know it will soon. Safe and private, it has been designed as a holiday home.

More upmarket, this apartment is in a prestigious block of apartments with prime ocean-front position. Hosted by Airbnb Superhosts Derek and Jill, the apartment has a huge private balcony and ducted air-conditioning and fans within. Secure undercover car parking for two vehicles and pool, gym and bbq in the complex.
The two bedrooms are both king, or one king and two singles. The main has that beautiful big tub to relax in after a day exploring and separate shower/toilet. There is a second bathroom and powder room and I could go on, telling you how great it is. Click on the link above to see for yourself.

Look no further for spacious, comfortable accommodation. This three bedroom air-conditioned apartment has two bathrooms, sleeps up to eight and has a big balcony for entertaining.
This apartment complex overlooks Anzac Park and the Strand and really is a bargain. The kitchen features Quality SMEG appliances, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, sandwich maker and coffee maker. It’s easy to cater for the family here.
Choose from 2 pools and a spa to cool off in. Stairs lead to the 2nd floor apartment. Situated at the river end of the Strand, it is conveniently close to the Tobruk Pool, Strand Waterpark, Cafes, Magnetic Island Ferry, Casino and the Central Business District.

Located near Waterpark and Tobruk Baths, it is walking distance to Casino, Magnetic Island Ferry and Flinders Street East.
Fully air-conditioned with fans and security screens, it is great for tropical living.This apartment with lovely water views, is well appointed and makes for a comfortable and restful stay in Townsville. It is close to all attractions and has a balcony that catches the morning sun beautifully. Studio 1201 – Aquarius on the Strand

Walk directly from the Elevator on Floor 12 into Studio 1201, regarded as the best apartment at Aquarius on the Strand, Townsville’s only high rise. This north-east corner aspect has stunning views of Kissing Point, Pallarenda and Cleveland Bay.
Being a corner unit, this architecturally designed renovated apartment has more space than others, enabling a separate kitchen. The design has won awards for the thoughtful finishes.
Everything from the Denon sound system, Smeg grill, the reverse cycle air-conditioning and the rain shower-head is integrated. The bed is extremely comfortable, as are chairs and a futon couch.
Concertina doors lead to the balcony, or enjoy the controlled climate indoors. Don’t forget the pool on ground level. All the facilities of the hotel are enjoyed except front desk services.

My ground floor studio apartment with courtyard is a little slice of paradise, with direct access the pool and BBQ area. Restaurants, Hotels, Cafes and Coles Supermarket are within walking distance, so no need to cook, however the studio has a ceramic cooktop and convection microwave if you don’t feel like going out. The king size bed can be split into two singles on request. The unit can host a maximum of 2 adults and a child up to the age of 12. For a family of 3 a fold up bed will be set up beside the king bed.

All with individual front gardens and enclosed outdoor dining courtyards at rear. Queen beds in both bedrooms and a pull out sofa or 2 floor mattresses in lounge.
Street view shows fence and secure sliding gate with car parking behind. Pineapple Bungalow units extend behind the car park orientated toward the side of the property. As such they are not visible from the street.
Situated two streets back from the Strand, these affordable units are quite close to Strand Park, beach and esplanade. Families with pets love them, but as always enquire about bringing your pet before booking.
The Whitehouse – with little Extras that count

Airbnb Superhost Andy offers brand new Whitehouse, purpose built Airbnb beneath their main house. Two Queen Bedrooms and one bathroom, lounge, dining and kitchen. You have sole use of the whole air-conditioned apartment, with polished concrete floors, new furniture and air-conditioning throughout.
Use the Whitehouse BBQ under the tree or dine locally. The Whitehouse is close to Jezzine Barracks Development, the Rock Pool and Stinger Enclosure, but the whole Strand Precinct is within walking distance of the Whitehouse. Shorehouse Restaurant is very close and I personally recommend it.
