POST 6 – ONE MONTH IN VIETNAM

When we first planned on going to Sapa, I was a little unsure about trekking, but found this walk to Cat Cat village to be a good warm up for longer treks. It sets off from Sapa leading down to Cat Cat village, 3km away in the Muong Hoa valley.

It’s an easy walk down and a not so easy walk back.  Having said that I hate walking uphill and managed no worries.  If you do get tired, motorbikes ply the trail and for a price you can hitch a ride.

While Marty and I watched a colourful dance performance in Cat Cat Village, Jake was having lunch outside.   He was happy sitting by the fire eating kebabs, rice cooked in bamboo cylinders, eggs, and sweet potatoes cooked over the coals.  We joined him after the dance performance for some kebabs.

Cat Cat Village is a good introduction to the valley.  A guide is not necessary, the villagers are friendly and the scenery interesting.
